2011 Vauxhall Combo no electrical power

problem started with engine revs rising to around 1000 RPM. and the van seemed under powered. then different warning lights came on and off, i turned the ignition off and it seemed like the battery was dead. installed another brand new battery, same problem with the engine revs, but went away after about 3 mins. went to start the engine the next day no life in the battery. i can only suspect a dead short. Any clues?

Check alternator is charging , if o.k check for parasitic drain .
