Clock sometime don't work

hi have a 53 plate combo 1.7di and from time to time the clocks don;t work it starts and run fine. had all the wiring checked thats come back ok so was told the change the clocks, got some from a scrap yard but needed to be re-coded took it in to my vauxhall dealership only for them to tell me (after 5days) that they can;t do it because the clocks i got wasn't de-code when i brought them is there anything that can be done to get it sorted or do i have to pay £400 for new clocks? any one help?

I'v been reading a lot about combos after buying one and a few times now people are saying there is an ecu problem (water getting in) which is causing problems with the radio, it has happened to mine.. No problem with the clocks tho but might be related?
