2006 Vauxhall Combo turbo cuts out ? safe mode ?

Car: Vauxhall Combo
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.3 cdti
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi , my van seems to lose power mainly when going uphill , the power drops off and the spanner/car light flashes then goes off , if I quickly turn the engine on and off its ok again until I push the accelerator down hard .Normally happens in 5th gear when I accelerate from 60 upwards . I took it to a garage and they changed the vacuum sensor and the egr valve and rear exhaust, but it still does it , these works cost a fair bit and I dont want to waste any more money , anyone have any ideas ?

Are there no fault codes logged to give a better clue to the issue ?

Just noticed your heading on this fault is turbo cuts out,it may be that your turbo is over boosting and shutting down the management system ,first port of call is the control valve after that it could be a turbo issue.
