Light swith will not tune to headlights

My hadlight swith will not turn fully round to get the headlight to work.I can turn half round to get the side lights to come on only.also the main beam will not click on unless i hold it. any ideas would be much appreciated.

It sounds like the main lights switch is broken or faulty meaning it won`t fully turn. As for the main beam, on some cars when you pull the stalk it will only bring the main beam on whilst holding the stalk. If you push the stalk away from you the main beam will stay on. On other cars, yes you do pull it and it clicks so that main beam stays on. I`m not sure of the set up on your vehicle but try pushing the stalk or have look in the manual.

Agree with bustedk. Try fitting a New or S/h switch to see if that cures the problem.
