2002 Vauxhall Combo turbo problem?

When the engine is working harder ie accelerating or going uphill, I hear a loud air hissing noise from outside. The harder the engine works, the louder the noise. When cruising at about 50mph no noise can be heard. There doesn`t seem to be any loss of power, and the engine sounds fine.
The engine management light came on once but not since the first time. Can anyone help please?

Check the air hoses from the inter cooler to make sure that they are connected securely and also chek for any splits in the pipes...
