Engine cutting out

1998 Vauxhall Combo 1.7 diesel
Car: Vauxhall Combo
Year: 1998
Variant: 1.7 diesel
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi. Got an old S reg Vauxhall combo van (diesel). Recently starting playing up early after turning engine on. Starts fine as usual but in the first 15-20 minutes if i do not keep up the revs the engine just dies on me. this has just started happening with the arrival of the recent cold weather. Once we hit 90 on the temp gauge it runs as normal and the engine does not cut out. Today it happened in the evening before going home as the van had sat still all day. Any ideas!?!?!?!?! Thanks

Clogged fuel filter perhaps?

An idea. it actually cut out today nearly an hour into the journey, so my theory about it only happening when it is cold has gone out of the window!!

If it,s the izusu engine i would check your edu unit below the fuel pump, possibly a soldered joint inside breaking up.Its easy to remove and if you open the unit up you will easily see the problem.
