2001 Vauxhall Astra not reving above 3000 revs

from standind still the rev counter will not rev abouve 3000 revs the manigment light is on and wont go out when the car is warm . when the car starded from cold the manigment light is not on .when the car gets up to 3000 revs the car starts juddering

Could be coil pack . But rather than guessing , get it scanned and see what shows.

check coilpacks,sparkplug cables,timingbelt timing,crank sensor,sometimes the crankpully comes loose and the timing shifts where the cranksensor is. loosen the bolt on the crank pully and check if the pully is still in place. in south africa we have the opel astra and corsa. its basicly the same as your vauxhaull.
