2003 Vauxhall Astra changing oil grade

Year: 2003
Variant: 1.6 petrol, 8 valvr.

Previously posted as regards my astra using 0.5 litre of oil per 400 iles. Oil in car is 10w 40 semi.
Would changing the oil grade improve oil consumption?

Doubt it . On some cars changing grade / type of oil can cause problems with hydraulic tappets .But who knows , just my opinion , been wrong before , might work .
