2004 Vauxhall Astra engine cuts out

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.6 sxi twinport
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I drove my car to work one morning, which started fine. Then I tried to start my car an hour later. It started but then cut out. then when I tried it again it started but if it dropped below 1000 revs it cut out. If I hold my foot on the accelerator the revs will go up and down until i take my foot off, nearly stalling when the revs get down to 1000 revs. It will continue doing so until I take my foot off the accerator then it will stall. Any help???

Could be the IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE needing cleaned / replaced . Could also check no hoses , vacuum pipes loose or leaking .

It doesn't seem to b any of them it's in a garage now and he seems to think it's the accelerator throttle bodie itself. Is this a common problem??

Sometimes the throttle body itself can develop a vacuum leak, another possibility is a crack or gasket leak at the inlet manifold.
