2000 Vauxhall Astra not starting

turn key and nothing, not even a click. checked earths and power to starter, which was then changed, all ok. new starter got a click but nothing else except fan kicked in. would start with push (after less than 20 yards run!)now wont with push either. please help!!

Have you had the battery load tested???..

the battery should be fine as only a couple months old.
