2002 Vauxhall Astra running hotter than normal

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2002
Variant: 1.8 ELEGANCE
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
WITHIN TEN MINS OF STARTING IT WILL GET UP TO 100c ON TEMP GAUGE AND AT MOTORWAY SPEEDS EVEN HIGHER. THERE ARE NO LEAKS, FAN KICKS IN AND WORKS. WATER PUMP CHANGED LAST YEAR WHEN CAM BELT WAS DONE.TEMP DROPS ABIT FOR 5 THEN GOES BACK UP.
MY GARAGE HAVE TOLD ME TO KEEP AN EYE ON IT WHICH I HAVE BEEN DOING AND THAT ITS NOT THE THEMOSTAT.
IVE CHANGED THE COOLANT AND STILL THE SAME.
WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE ?
