2001 Vauxhall Astra vibration on acceleration

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2001
Variant: SXi DTi
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Hi all,

I am new to the site and would like some help please :-)
My gorgeous Astra (Bella!!) is vibrating on acceleration..particuarly 1st and 2nd.
The vibration is coming from 'the front' of the car rather than it being the whole car.
She is front wheel drive and has 105,000 miles, so she's still just a baby really!

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Many thanks,

Jane

You dont say what year or engine in car .Many possible causes , but DMF ( DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL ) is very common and expensive . Other possible cause could be engine mountings , but DMF usually favourite .

Thank you so much for the (potentially expensive!!) advice :-)

My Astra is a 2.0 SXi DTi registered 51

I will get the bits you have mentioned checked out...is there a way to check the DMF??

Many thanks again,

Jane

Glad to help . Usual symptoms are rattles / judder .Hope it's something simple like an engine mounting and not the DMF .
