2006 Vauxhall Astra engine flooding

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.6 design
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
on a regular basis the engine floods on starting even when turning the key only once or twice and not touching the throttle either . I am then stuck as the car will not start except when either pushing or towing . This has happened now on several occassions when on my own and i can find no other way of starting car or how to prevent this happening in the first place . Even when leaving the car overnight , the next morning the car will still not start.

hi thanks for reply. Have you came across this problem before ? Is there any way to test the sensor and do you have an idea of cost for a new one ?

have come across this problem many times, you can test the coolant sensor by checking the resistance with a meter, the resistance will increase/decrease with temperature change, alternatively just buy a new one, they don`t cost too much
