2002 Vauxhall Astra can't get first gear

I just dropped money down the back of where the ashtray fits, drove home and now can't get 1st gear. When I was driving home, I couldn't get 1st or 2nd but now can get everything apart from 1st. The money is nowhere to be seen and I wondered if the two things were connected?

I dont think the two things are related as the gear linkage goes into the front of the car and not near the seats. Get it booked in. It might be something simple like a clutch cable etc.

This happened on my Corsa the gear selectors had gone, luckly my car was still under the dealers warranty, but my super dad said it's not an expensive thing to get fixed and shouldn't take long to do,
