will start for a few seconds and will just cut out and sounds lumpy and running uneven

replace the idle speed control valve very common problem on the astras and corsas and vectras they get clogged up with carbon/varnish cleaning it would help but the problem will just return but i will let you decide if you do want to clean it then you will need aerosol form carb and injecor cleaner spray this in to the idle speed control valve which will remove any deposits in side the valve
