2009 Vauxhall Astra faulty brakes

Problem existed at purchase from new. Was told that this is how modern cars are and no fault. Eventually took back, again told no fault. Took back again and was rebooked in for 2 dec 2010. told them that if not fixed I would drive it to police station and ask the police if they agree with me that it's dangerous. They now tell me that there has been a manufactures recall for the breaks dated 2 Dec 2010, would you believe it? I hate this car have no confidence in it or the agents and just want rid of it.

What is the problem with the brakes ? Did they tell you what the recall entailed ? if not ask them for this info.so that you know what work is being carried out on your car for later reference if needed .
