check the water level and top up if required when you turn the heater dial can you feel resistance in the switch/dial if there is no resistance then a cable/lever has come off if the car has aircon make sure that is off and the heater is not on resurcilate

This might be your thermostat, check your engine is getting warm on both top and bottom radiator hoses. On some cars the thermostat diverts some of the hot coolant from the engine to the heat exchanger for your cars heater after it has reached a certain temperature. This may not be working correctly. This can be tested by removing the thermostat and replacing the cover, fill with water and run the engine. Make sure you keep an eye on the temp gauge (don't drive the car). If you get an increase in hot air, the thermostat is your proplem. Note, you may have to Restrict the flow of water around the engine by squashing the top radiator hose to get the engine up to temp. TAKE CARE NOT TO OVER HEAT THE ENGINE, let someone site inside the car while doing this. Good luck. And don't forget to top up with anti freeze !
