2001 Vauxhall Astra stops when you take your foot off the accelerator

when driving a long at any speed and you take your foot off the accelerator the engine stops .even when you start the engine it will not tick over at 500 revs it just stops when you take your foot off the accelerator can you help

Could check / clean or replace idle control valve .

is this also down to the egr valve and ecu valve

EGR valve and throttle body needing cleaned are a common fault also , but not normally with stalling . Certainly worth checking but usually ICV .
