When on a long journey, travelling around 65-70mph engine management light comes on and reverts to emergency programme. Been on diagnostic machine but shows no fault. Also suffers loss of power at times especially when going up hills. Help.

Could check / change fuel filter if not been done for a while and check all vacuum hoses for leaks / collapsing .

check boost pressure actuator/solenoid,if the light is coming on then there is a fault code stored,have you had the codes read by vauxhalls tech 2 as some multi vehicle code readers will not identify certain codes
