car has loss of power and less fuel effient. my mechanic has cleaned a dirty valve and put in a new air filter, still the same, any ideas?

what codes did he come up with when reading the ecu as codes should be stored when mil or svs lights come on?

check the boost pressure actuator down the back of the engine,check your inlet amnifold,swirl flaps and egr are not carboned up,if so then clean and remove
