I recently changed changed my gearbox which has now been fixed but for some reason the car over revs and on gas the car DOES NOT cut off but stays on high revs but on petrol the car cuts off on stand still my mechanic has no idea why it is doing that especially when it was a straight forward procedure i also had to replace the engine mount too because it got damaged when the original gearbox went would that be the problem.can the e.c.m (engine control management )have gotten damaged in anyway while doing the work on the gearbox. Please help

its unlikely that the problem has damaged something but it does sound like there is a connector that is not connected some where so have the garage who ever did the job to give it the once over and have them sort the problem out as i assume it wasnt there before and at no extra cost unless its related to some thing else but i also think that it may want a reprogramme via the dealers
