1997 Vauxhall Astra radiator fan wont come on

radiator fan wont come on, have changed
the thermo/switch 2 times,fan is working
if you put a main feed to it
It has a 2 prong switch on it,
but if i put a 3 prong switch on it
the fan will come on, when you put the
ignition on and stays on.

Almost sure most models of this car without A/C have a two plug switch and not a three .Check fuses and if any relays for fan .On some models it was fuse no. 15, 30 amp rating (green), but might not apply to your car .

remove the fuse for the rad fan and inspect, as on this model they had a habit of melting the fuse holder. if fuse holder has melted cut the wires and fit an inline fuse holder and fuse
