Car took into a friends garage today and identified bottom end rattle - 99% certain needs attention/refit. How much would a 2.2 engine (used) cost + labour?

if you bottom end has just started to rattle then have you tried to replace just the big end bearings on it first rather than a engine swap as would be cheaper to start with as a complete replacement engine and labour you would be looking around the £1000 mark hope this helps
