2003 Vauxhall Astra knocking in steering

I can feel knocking in the steering when I turn also I can feel the knocking a lot in the break if I steer and press the break at the same time, what could be the problem?

suspect worn strut top mountings and/or broken coil springs

Sound like tie rods on rack maybe worn.
