oil rings went on old engine put new engine in still smokes any one know the problem.

Only thing I can suggest , if engine fitted is o.k. , is that the exhaust has got oil from old engine lying inside .Sometimes it takes a while to burn off , a good belt down Motorway might clear , if you don't get done by cops !Either that ,if it is really saturated inside ,need to replace .

the astra has always been a problem, the smoke could be piston rings or oil seals, if its oil seals then it should only smoke when you first start it and then it should clear, if its the rings then it will smoke all the time but more when you put your foot down, how old is the car?
