Power steering comes and goes

Hi My power steering keeps coming and going. When I start it in the morning the power steering is on,However after driving for ten minutes it goes off. If i leave the car off for a couple of hours it comes back on.Then the same thing happens again. I have had a new pump fitted and also had the battery and alternator checked. What could be the problem? Thanks

have you checked powersteering fluid?
