Left Indicator light not working

2004 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 se automatic
Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.6 se automatic
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Newbie here so please be gentle.

Currently having problems with a left indicator light (front & rear) on a 2004 Astra automatic. Flasher started going fast then slow. Then wouldn't work, especially when wet. Then it would sometimes stay on even when key removed from ignition. Changed bulbs. Still happening. Got a replacement indicator stalk and relay from a breakers yard and had these fitted yesterday. 8 hours later problem returned.

Suspect electrics/wiring but I would appreciate any advice and/or would also like to know how much it would cost to have this problem fixed. Other half has this car and is nipping my head about getting it fixed. If nothing else could someone save me from the hell that is 'nagging'.
