2000 Vauxhall Astra diesel pump wiring

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.7td
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Basically my mum had a astrat 1.7td V plate and it had a electric fuel pump that went wrong. Some guy did a (bodge) fix by putting a mk3 mechanical fuel pump on as a £300 compared to a £900 fix. Which worked fine except the emissions were astronomial. Now we have come to put the engine in another vehicle, and the having trouble with three wires that come off the top of the fuel pump. We have put one from pump to fuse box but are not sure about other two. The van now starts but dont run. Can any body help in regards to the other two wires or tell me how to wire up the mechanical pump to allow the van to run correctly
Much Appreciated if anyone can it has stumped me and my mate for two days now.

should be a live fed from main relay via fuel pump relay this is because pump doesnt run all the time thus your emission problem, other are earth the third is only usually for in tank pumps this is for fuel gauge. hope this helps
