2017 Vauxhall Astra low compression in one cylinder, engine only done 28000 miles.

Engine management light came on and Vauxhall have said low power from cylinder one and engine needs replaced and will be 6500 to carry out this work cars only done 29500

Without knowing why they say you need a new engine when only one cylinder low in compression , hard to advise . Often low compression can be a valve problem which is usually not too major . Might be better to get a second opinion.
