2012 Vauxhall Astra no revs and no power,

I have a 1.7 62plate sxi... I have been having problems starting the car, did eventually start, then the other day it cut out no power, and no revs, waiting for it to get fixed but have no idea what the problem could be, turns over but the engine doesn't sound smooth at all.. There are no dash lights on either, Thank you

Could try changing the fuel filter but many many other possible causes that only scanning for fault codes will show .Could even be the instrument cluster
