Intermittent starting

No pattern to the car not starting, does it in all temps , will crank but not start , turn key second time will struggle but then start , fault codes have been different, have had crankshaft sensor replaced and cambelt sensor , garage changed valve sensor as that was another fault code but they didn't charge me as that didn't fix it either , and this morning the immobiliser light came on while i was driving but didn't come back on while driving later on in the day

If you have had all the fault codes rectified , have you had the basics , the plugs replaced , battery voltage / condition tested , alternator charging rate under load checked and MAF checked , cleaned or replaced ?

Have had plugs changed but not had anything checked for alternator or battery, sometimes the headlights do dim when i pulling away but not all the time and have had no warning lights for battery or alternator show

Getting your battery and alternator LOAD tested is a simple 5 min job and a lot of garages , fast fit centres , Halfords will do free of charge , while you wait . If the MAF is faulty it will send wrong signals to the ECU and wont help starting .

Will get it checked out it would b good if it was just that after all , but ive got this feeling it might b something to do with fuel as sometimes i can smell petrol its almost like the old days with not having enough choke on or too much

Check your air filter also if not already been done .
