2012 Vauxhall Astra i have a2012 astra j 1.3 diesel, i got a garage to change steering rack and put a second hand rack back on ,its not working at all do they need to programme the rack or is it just a straight change over

Some are straight forward swap others not , Also depends on a lot of factors if hydraulic and pump driven or EPAS Often through a fault code if not

Its EPAS but is the same part number so hopefully just a straight swap thanks
