very common problem over time as with most locks you will require a lock rebuild doing most vauxhall dealers offer this service or you could have a new lock fitted but that is alot of money so have the lock rebuild option as it works out alot cheaper and only takes about half hour to do depending on how busy the dealers are

wiggle the key end ot end as well as turning it gently at the same time or you may break the key ive been to many of these before and never failed to get it released

take off the electrical connection on back of steering lock, get a pair of pin nose pliers and at the same time as turning the key use the pliers on the metal paddle bit that would go into the electrical connection,it may feel stiff but as you turn it you should feel it starting to turn, and so you will be able to remove the barrell to get lock redone
