2001 Vauxhall Astra spanner light

My partners astra keeps putting the light on with the little spanner on it and when its on will lose power, if she stops and turns it off and re starts it the light has gone out but will come back on after a while,(somtimes after a few miles somtimes not till the next day) i have plugged in to the obd socket while the light is on but it is saying no faults or fault codes, has any one had this problem or know what the problem is?

this means electrical fail you may need vaux gen system or better system eg snapon solus etc as your system may only read engine man codes.this could be any electrical system

Very common prob, going into limp mode poss egr valve or crankshaft sensor.
