Burning oil

Car losses power for a few seconds there is a huge plume of smoke out the exhaust then car is ok. Oil needs topped up every week or so.

That engine was always bad for using oil , even when new it said in owners handbook 1000 mls per pint of oil was normal . If you are burning oil it can be valve stem oil seals . valve stem wear , piston ring wear etc This can carbon up valves and other engine components .
