Horn not Working

2007 Vauxhall Astra Design
Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2007
Variant: Design
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Pressing the horn buttons increases the volume of the radio, but no sound from the horn.
I would prefer the horn to work normally, but, is it possible to bypass the existing buttons and fit a separate 'flick' switch more suitable for Fiamm air horns, or even just a normal switch and additional normal horn.

Personally I would just stick with the standard horn , changing is possibleBut ,for convenience and mot standard Better kept standard ,somethings worn or not earthing correctly probably your issue

Had this problem myself. Tried the lot, replaced horn and checked poor earthing etc. Neither the horn or lights would work if the lights were on.

Your problem will be an ICU most likely the SIMM in the steering wheel assembly . Not cheap :-(

Many thanks for both suggestions, I had one quote which included a non existent diagnostics check for £885, but finally went to an auto- electricians garage a stones throw from Morrisons of Woking, Surrey, and paid total of just under £400. The sim unit in the steering wheel was the problem. Cost of new unit £299. and £99.00 for labour.
