Vauxhall Astra rear floor wet

Behind the passenger seat, the carpet is soaking wet.. I think this is because we have had heavy rain, as it seems worse when it rains.
I took it to my local (non dealership) garage a few months ago and they couldn't find where the problem was coming from. Has anyone else had a similar problem, and if so what was the cause?
Is it an expensive repair?

Check , clear any sill drains or rubber plugs .

Remove the rear light clusters and check the rubber seals for same.
