2003 Vauxhall Astra no power at 3000 revs + warning light

1600 03 Astra - The warning light with the engine (spanner through the middle) has come on and the car has no power when I hit 3000 revs.
I've had an oil leak for a while and have been topping up regularly. Any help would be much appreciated but I'm a real amateur so need to be nursed through it.

the spanner light is the electronic fail lamp i could gess a few posables but the safer thing is to have the ecu codes read most garages have scanners and a good garage will read the codes foc and quote for the repair
