2005 Vauxhall Astra knocking noise

Year: 2005
Variant: 1.7 cdti

I have a knocking noise when driving, but when I depress the clutch to change gear etc it stops. Also, when pulling away it shudders a bit.
I am wondering if it is the input shaft bearings but don't know and how easy is it to change these.

Any help gratefully received.

Sounds like it could be the DMF ( dual mass flywheel )
