Hi, the car runs great, but every now and then it will not start, the engine turns over ok but will not start. If I wait for about half an hour it will just start as normal, and be ok for a day or so. Also what is this about pressing the pedals? any ideas, thanks.

Next time it does this check the rev counter to see if the needle moves.
No movement could mean a faulty crank angle sensor.
Intermittent faults can be difficult to diagnose so Your help is needed.
Take notes when this happen,
like how hot is the engine?
Any unusual exhaust smoke?
So on and so on.

Hi ,this astra would not start today, outside of the waste disposal centre, I was tempted to dump it right there. I had to call the breakdown service out, and by the time he got there it just started as normal ,the mechanic did put a diagnostic on it but it did not show any faults. I did notice the rev counter move to 2rpm and then to10 rpm and then down to 5. the engine was warm and no sign of any smoke. would appreciate any ideas.
