Ignition switch problem

2006 Vauxhall Astra 1.7 cdti
Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.7 cdti
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
My starting motor was struggling to start the car. I knew it was the starter as there was a new battery in it. Finally the car wouldn't start and I decided to fit a new starter, when I turned the key the first time, it wouldn't start. Turned it again and it did. Starts all the time now. The problem I have now is, when I take the key out and open the door the buzzer sounds as though the key is still in and the door won't lock. Any ideas please. Thanks in advance.

Is it a hard job to fit an ignition switch solution 1? I have never took a steering wheel with an air bag off. Does it have to be put on a computer to re do the electrics afterwards.
