Fan

2006 Vauxhall Astra 1.8 coupe
Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.8 coupe
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
when start the engine the fan comes on and stays on from cold starts, is it the fan sensor
Problem added: Feb 21, 2015 (9 years ago)
Coolant temp sensor feeds it's signal to the ECU which then outputs to the fan relays (2 0ff) which then feeds the fans.
So unplug the coolant temperature sensor and see if that kills the fan,
though it could be either a faulty relay or a faulty ECU or wiring.
A decent garage will have either OP com or Tech II either of which can be used to activate cooling fans which will narrow the fault more .
I try the CTS first.
