Gearbox oil in radiator header tank

Had a look in radiator header tank to check water level as heater didn't seam very good and found tank was half full of gearbox oil is this the rad problem gearbox is working ok but taken car off road do you think I will cure fault by pitting a new radiator and thermostat plus gearbox flush and replace hoses car has only done 55000 mile
also how would I find out if the car had had the recall I bought it 3 years ago from a vauxhall main dealer so shouldn't they have checked this before selling the car

Usually ends up knackering auto g/box .Get on to dealership and see what they say before doing anything
