2004 Vauxhall Astra fan /electric problem

The fan 9/10 times doesnt work but will occasionally come on for 10 seconds, hot or cold air still comes through vents. Also every time fan settings 1-4 are touched air con light will automatically come on. Any advise would be great. Also most morning I go to the car and radio is playing randomly and interior light also seems to dimmer then comes back to full strength.

Could be the heater ballast resistor .Your year was the change between mk4 and mk5 so not sure what is fitted on your car .
