2007 Vauxhall Astra losing water from hedder tank

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2007
Variant: 1.7
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Hi, after I have done a trip of around 50 miles or so, my hedder tank has completely emptied of coolant but there are no warning lights appearing on the dash. Also, there is no temperature gauge fitted to my car so I don't know if the car is overheating. I drove my car on Monday (10/11/2014) and I noticed huge Plooms of white smoke coming out of the exhaust. Could it be the Head Cylinder?? Oh, there's no sign of any water when I check the oil dipstick.

Sounds like head gasket gone .Depends where the head gasket goes whether it mixes with the oil or blows out the exhaust , giving white smoke .If you get a block test carried out it will confirm if head/ gasket gone or not . Another sign can be the rad hoses pressurising .
