Jerks and engine dies

1999 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 club
Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 1999
Variant: 1.6 club
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I bought a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Club from a local garage, it had the engine electronics management light on, I was told not to worry about it. Took the car to N Wales & back & found oil in the water. Had the head gasket done at the garage where bought the car. Ever since I've had it back it goes for so long then jerks & then the engine will just die. So far I have given it a service, engine flushed, coolant flushed, new oil filter, air filter, plugs, oil & coolant replaced, also put on new EGR valve & fuel filter. Since doing this I've managed to make the engine electronics management light go out, but the jerking & engine dying still happening. Any ideas anyone?
