2002 Vauxhall Astra check engie light on and emmisons light flashes

Year: 2002
Variant: 1.6 LS 8v manual
Hi thier,
I have a astra which ive had for 3 years its been great up until recently when the engine check light came on I did the peadal test and the code came up was 0340 which I found out was camshaft position sensor Ive changed the sensor and was fine unti it gets to normal running temperature when the light came on again I did the pedal test and the fault is still the same as before and now my emisions light flashes can anybody help me with this thans

Check the wiring / connection at sensor .

Hi thier ive checked all the connections etc. And the car is now starting to cut out when driving only when coming to a stop

If the engine is stalling , clean / replace idle air control valve and clean throttle body .

I have come across many Vauxhall gremlins in the past. Most seem to point to the engine loom connector, mostly found on the back of the engine or on top opposite the cambelt. This link box has to be sent away to be repaired. Also the dash clocks are a bad fit and pushing the clocks inwards makes a better connection
