1999 Vauxhall Astra wont run

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 1999
Variant: 1700 turbo diesel
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The car started missing the occasional beat. This became more frequent until it eventually stopped, and now will not start at all.
It's the GM engine, with the Bosch pump, on the front side of the engine. 0470004003.
The fault codes are p1660 and p1345.
I believe the ecu, 0281 010 888, needs repair, and I am trying to locate either a sensibly priced replacement ecu, or a repair to my unit.
ecutesting.com want over £300 for this service, which is not realistic in my opinion.
Has anyone any alternative suggestions please?

regards, Paul.

GO TO THE SCRAPYARD YOUNG MAN. GET ECU FROM A REAR END SMASH OR FROM CAR WITH DAMAGE ON WING OPPOSITE THE ECU SIDE. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUT HAVE YOU CHECKED THE INJECTORS AND FUEL FILTERS. IT COULD BE SIMPLY BLOCKAGES SOMEWHERE
