2001 Vauxhall Astra oil light

hi, after driving for about 5-6 miles the oil light flickers on once you stop and then goes out when you use the accelerator, i thought this may be something to do with the oil pump but having a brand new one fitted yesterday it still does it, has any one else experience with this sort of thing and can help, kind regards paul

Try replacing oil pressure switch .
