Vauxhall Astra turbo cuts out

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: 1.7cdti
Model Year: 2004
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi,thanks in advance for any replies.
I've had a problem with my astra for the last year or so. When I drive between 70-80 mph (only tends to do it at this speed) and quickly have to slow down i.e take my foot off the accelerator suddenly and brake, my service light (light of car with spanner through) comes on and my turbo cuts out and acceleration is very sluggish. I have to switch my engine off to get the light off and everything then runs fine until I get up to that speed again and suddenly take my foot off again. If however I am travelling at that speed and slowly take my foot off the accelerator and slow down very gradually the light doesn't come on and I can keep on going up and down in speed gradually no problem. If I'm quite sudden lifting off under 70 mph I don't have any problem what so ever. Really annoying as you can probably guess when people pull in front of you on carriage ways and you have to brake hard.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks James

Sounds like the car is going into limp mode. Need to get the car scanned for any codes that may be stored...
